I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
